PODKARPACIE

About our region: Podkarpacie is a region located on the outskirts of the European Union. It is located just on the border between Slovakia and Ukraine.  Tourists are attracted by mild mountains – the Bieszczady Mountains, wooden architecture, especially the Orthodox Church, interesting historical and technical monuments and delicious local cuisine. The wide range of tourist attractions that our region has to offer will make it possible for your guests to enjoy sightseeing, trekking, sailing, rafting (very calm and recreational), Nordic walking, health tourism in spas and much more. The most touristic region of our province is the Bieszczady Mountains, where we try to locate your guests.

Tour plan:
 
  • Day 1 (8h) – Sanok -treasury of Bieszczady
    • The Sanok Open Air Museum is the largest in Poland – over 180 wooden huts, orchards, cottages and temples from the area of the former Bieszczady Mountains.
    • Galician Town – a magnificent reconstruction of former Galician small towns in the openair museum in Sanok – a journey into the past.
    • Poland’s largest museum of Orthodox Church Icons
    • Rafting (very safe and recreational) on the San River – about 2 hours.
    • Bonfire on the riverbank (regional menu)
  • Day 2 (8h) – Classics of Bieszczady
    • The so-called Bieszczady Loop – a road built in the 60s.
    • Bieszczady Forest Railway, Main station: Balnica and a train ride to Balnica or Przysłup.
    • A visit to a shepherd’s hut in the Bieszczady National Park – an opportunity to try mountain cheeses such as bundz, solan, huculski cheese, redykołka or oscypek.
    • Walking in the Bieszczady Mountains (depending on the group, it can be a hike on hilly terrain or a walk to the chalets on flat terrain, which takes around 1.5 h).
    • European bison enclosure – we will see the largest European mammal in the acclimatization enclosure.
    • Interior of the St. Michael the Archangel Tserkva in Smolnik (on the UNESCO World Heritage List).
  • Day 3 (7h) – In the land of the Bieszczady Lakes
    • Railway bike – ride on Uherce Mineralne – Jankowce route (or an easier route).
    • The interior of the Solina Dam – the tallest dam in Poland.
    • Walking on the crown of the Solina Dam.
    • Ship cruise with wine tasting at sunset.
  • Day 4 (9h) – The Great Fortress of Przemyśl 
    • Krasiczyn Castle – Polish Renaissance Pearl.
    • Przemyśl Fortress – military monuments from the Great War period.
    • Sightseeing in one of the oldest Polish cities – Przemyśl.
    • Meeting with Józef Szwejk (club of enthusiasts of Józef Szwejk).
    • Underground Route in Przemyśl.
  • Day 5 (9h) – The land of kerosene and glass
    • Bóbrka the Museum of Oil and Gas Industry Ignacy Łukasiewicz – an oil museum with the first oil well in the world.
    • Glass Heritage Centre in Krosno. An interactive museum where we will meet masters of glass craftsmanship.
    • Assumption of Holy Mary Church in Haczów (on the UNESCO World Heritage List).
    • Chocolate bar in Korczyna or tasting in Podkarpacka Destylarnia Okowity.
    • Iwonicz Zdrój – a walk through the oldest health resort in Poland – mineral water tasting.
  • Day 6 (12h) – Łańcut, Dynów and Rzeszów
    • Dynów – Narrow-gauge railway ride called “Podgórzanin”.
    • Łańcut Castle – visiting the interior of the residence with a carriage house.
    • Museum of Vodka and Rosolis at Polmos in Łańcut – with tasting.
    • A guided walk through Rzeszów – capitol of Podkarpacie.
  • Day 7 (12h) – Rafting trip on the San River
    • Ulanów – rafting in traditional rafting boats (time: around 2h).
    • A feast on a Galar boat – traditional rafting cuisine on the San River.
    • Łańcut Castle – visiting the interior of the residence with a carriage house.
  • Day 8 (10h) – Osława Valley Icon Trail
    • Horse-drawn carriage rides.
    • Lemko Museum with Lemko stories.
    • Tserkva in Komańcza.
    • St. Michael Archangel’s Tserkva in Turzańsk (on the UNESCO World Heritage List).
  • Day 9 – Lviv – UKRAINE
    • Coach tour of the city of Lviv.
    • The interior of the Lviv Opera House.
    • A walk with a Lviv guide through the Old Town – arround 3 h.
    • The High Castle – a hill with a view of Lviv.
    • Diner with a ukrainian couisine.

  • Day 10 – Opal Mine and Košice – SLOVAKIA
    • Solivar – former Prešov Salt Mine – Unique wooden technical monument.
    • Opal Mines – traditional, hand-wrought rainbow opal mines – a maze of 30 km of corridors.
    • Košice – visiting the second largest city in Slovakia, influenced by Slovak, Hungarian and German culture.
